If you ever find yourself yearning for Jeju-style meat noodles, look no further than here. This spot is a genuine taste of Jeju Island right in the heart of Seoul. Run solely by my mom, it’s a cozy bar-style joint with seating for about 9. (It goes by the name Eomeong’s Meat Noodle Soupโ€”’Eomeong’ meaning ‘mom’ in Jeju dialect.) Here, you’ll find a dish crafted straight from the kitchens of Jeju moms, using locally-sourced ingredients like sargassum from Jeju Island in the pork and beef bone broth, jongmyeon noodles, and gulfweed.

Feeling hungry? Opt for the meat noodles, and if you’re feeling extra peckish, go for the extra meat + noodles optionโ€”it’s a feast fit for a king. Even without the extra meat, the portions are hearty. For first-timers, I recommend starting with the standard order and then adding more meat if you’re up for it.

Now, onto the star of the showโ€”the broth. Clear, perfectly seasoned, and rich in flavor, it’s like sipping on liquid gold. Not too salty, just right. Pair it with the tender meat slices and chewy noodles, and you’ve got a match made in culinary heaven.

Speaking of noodles, these aren’t your average strands. Made from Jeju medium-thick noodles sourced from Seongsanpo Ozori, they’re thicker than your usual Seoul noodles, requiring a slightly longer cook time of 7 minutes. And if you’re up for a kick, a sprinkle of chili powder adds the perfect spicy touch.
