My taste buds went on an adventure, exploring new flavors that rocked my world.

I just discovered the mind-blowing deliciousness of Malay cuisine, and my culinary awakening happened today. I decided to elevate Malaysia’s iconic Nasi Lemak by adding some succulent chicken to it. This dish features fragrant white rice accompanied by a spicy sambal sauce, a boiled egg, cucumber, peanuts, and anchovies, all with a hint of coconut and a buttery undertone. I started by savoring the tender meat atop the rice, then mixed it with the sambal sauce, enjoying it Bibimbap-style. The sauce itself is like a symphony of charcoal-marinated chicken flavors โ€“ absolutely delectable. Next up was the Salted Egg Fried Sotong, a tantalizing dish of fried calamari with a delightful blend of coriander and carrots. The crispy fried calamari offered a perfect balance of sweet and salty, making it an irresistibly addictive treat. As I indulged in these crispy delights, my mind couldn’t help but wander to the thought of a refreshing beer. Lucky for us, they offer a variety of Southeast Asian beer options to choose from.

The ambiance of this place is equally enchanting, with its dim lighting, warm wood-tone tables, and an array of exotic knick-knacks that create a cozy yet exotic atmosphere. If you’re tired of the same old dining experience, this is a must-visit spot. It’s no surprise that this restaurant is a favorite among Malaysian embassy staff โ€“ the culinary creations here are in a league of their own, thanks to the five-star hotel chefs at the helm. You’ll find The Makan nestled between Songpa-naru and Jamsil stations, with Exit 2 of Songpa Naru Station being the closest. Plus, it’s conveniently located near Seokchon Lake, Bangi Food Street, Songnidang-gil, Lotte World, and Lotte World Mall, making it the perfect stop for an unforgettable meal.
